Now that you would have seen its not about my sketch pad alone a lot of other amateurs are sharing their sketches to be shared and reviewed.
Well I picked on this one as its so unique its style, it uses clean cut figures with some smooth shading and a lot of symbolic and strategic placement of characters to send out a complete story behind this on sketch.
The story in this sketch goes so that this woman is seeing her man leave on a long journey and is in tears as she is left behind in a barren land which seems more stark in the absence of her beloved.
The light from the sinking sun highlight her agony was it is shines pitifully on her.
Well these are the thoughts that ran in my mind when Mahima Caprihan ( my colleague who did this piece ) showed the sketch to me for the first time…
Anecdote: Well strongly feel that the drawing style is very similar to some traditional styles followed in some parts of India…. giving it a very traditional feel…. ( just a hunch… )

Yea maybe you are right Shivani the jutis and the embroidery of the lehenga definitely add a traditinal rustic touch to the sketch!!
